Strat-O-Matic 1988 Replay Cubs Game 31


In today's game, the Cubs play game one of a two game series against the San Diego Padres. This season the Cubs are (0-3) against the Padres and (18-24) for the season.

On the offense side, the Cubs was led by Vance Law who was 2 for 4 with a double and a 3 run home run. Andre Dawson was 1 for 4 with a solo home run.

Shawon Dunston made an error at shortstop.

Erik Show started the game for the Padres and pitched 8 innings giving up 3 hits, 2 walks, 6 strikeouts, and 4 Earned Runs for an ERA of 3.38. Lance McCullers came in to pitch the ninth inning and gave up 1 hit and 0 runs for an ERA of 0.00.

Tony Gwynn went 2 for 5 with a single and a two run home run. After Bielecki ended up with the bases loaded he walked Garry Templeton to give him a RBI. Keith Moreland was 1 for 5 with a double. 

Chris Brown committed an error for the Padres this game.

The Cubs earned a win today bring their season to (19-24) and the Padres go to (6-10) for the season and (3-1) against the Cubs.
