Renegade Miniatures World War 1 Early War Germans

This year is the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War 1 so I figured it was time to get into the trenches. I finished 5 early war Germans I bought from Renegade Miniatures.

Federation Commander Solo Wargaming AAR

In my last post about Federation Commander, I played a simple solo game against a human opponent. Federation Commander is designed to be played against a live player but there are a few scenarios designed to be played solo. Today I'll be showing an After Action Report I played solo against Robot Rules. To be fair playing with the Robot Rules isn't as good as a human opponent and is a bit limiting but it is a good way to be able to play solo or to practice with a new ship, weapon, or strategy before you face an opponent.

Let's Play After The Horsemen Campaign Episode 1 With Card Decks

I've been thinking about starting a new post-apocalyptic campaign using 2 Hour Wargames rule set After The Horsemen so here we are. If you've never played After The Horsemen you can read my review here. I decided I would play as a lone wolf and created a character named Larry Templeton. The encounter for this game would be wandering with a goal of finding an NPC to interact with or to find a settlement.

Federation Commander Reference Rulebook Review

Amarillo Design Bureau released a Reference Rulebook for Federation Commander which contains all the current rules from every module released for the game. If you play Federation Commander I would recommend that you buy it for a few different reasons. The rulebook can be purchased in either a printed version or as a pdf from Steve Jackson Games e23 website.

For those of you who didn't read my review, you can download First Missions for free which contains basic rules so you can try out Federation Commander before purchasing the complete game.

Federation Commander Review

Many years ago while I was still in high school I was at a friend's house playing some computer games, I believe Warcraft 2, and as my friends and I were leaving I passed his dad's den and he had a table set up with a big hex grid space map that had Captain Kirk's TOS Enterprise surrounded by two Klingon D-7s. I love Star Trek and didn't know anything about the game that was set up so I asked what it was and if we could play and was told it was called Star Fleet Battles but it was too complicated to teach. We were playing a bunch of different games back then so I let it go but my interest in the game never left.

New Stuff!!

After nearly a year we're back with some new stuff! First up is a quick picture of the first miniature I finished painting from my Empire Of The Dead Kickstarter lot. His name is Iron Head Ned and while my painting skills are around a D- he looks good enough on the table, plus it's better than anyone I play with can paint.
