Erin Gilbert Ghostbusters (2016) Action Figure Review

I was at my local Wal-Mart finishing up my Christmas shopping when I found a second Ghostbuster (2016) movie action figure on clearance so I picked her up for my daughter. As you can see below I got her for 5 bucks which is even cheaper than I paid for Abbey Yates.

Just like the Abbey Yates figure Erin barely looks like Kristen Wiig, she looks more like Britney Spears. Abbey comes equipped with her proton pack and Rowan's feet.

I did not like this movie and I think part of it has to do with the look of the Ghostbusters. The 1984 uniforms and proton packs are iconic. I do like the idea of them wearing fireman type uniforms but they just don't work for me. While I'm not a big fan of the uniforms I have to say that I really hate the new proton packs. I think a lot of my problem is that I grew up with the original movie and that's what I think when you say Ghostbusters. From their logo, uniform, equipment, firehouse, and car I feel that they should have made everything look like they did in the first movie, that way the weak plot wouldn't have stuck out so bad but that's just my opinion.

Erin and Abbey look to be identical in height, I don't know if they are the same height in real life but that's how these action figures look. Like Abbey, Erin also has 16 points of articulation which isn't too bad for a figure of this size.

This 2016 Ghostbuster movie line of figures is six inches tall which is the same height as the 1984 Ghostbuster toy line that this Ray comes from. As you can see that despite the same scale Ray looks a lot more like Dan Aykroyd than Erin looks like Kristen Wiig. Also pictured is Egon from the Diamond Select 7 inch line just for a size comparison.

Just like my review of Abbey, Erin is a bit of a disappointment. Not counting Rowan's legs she only comes with her proton pack and doesn't have much of a resemblance to Kristin Wiig. If you have any interest in this action figure line I wouldn't pick her up unless you can find her on sale like I did. I have to give Erin a 5 out of 10.
