Bobby Ojeda (21-3) earns a rare loss in seven innings of work allowing 3 hits, 5 strikeouts, 3 walks and 2 Earned Runs for an ERA of 2.57. Terry Leach comes in to relieve Ojeda and goes 1 1/3 innings giving up 5 hits, 2 strikeouts, 1 walk and 5 Earned Runs for an ERA of 33.75. Edwin Nunez came in for Leach and pitched 2/3 innings giving up 3 hits, 1 strikeout and 1 Earned Run for an ERA of 13.50.
Lenny Dykstra, Keith Hernandez, Mookie Wilson and Wally Backman each had a single on the day, the Mets only hits. Darryl Strawberry hit a sacrifice fly driving in the Mets only run.
Kevin Elster committed an error.
Mike Krukow earned the Giants the win today after pitching 8 innings and giving up 3 hits, 6 strikeouts, 2 walks and 1 Earned Run for an ERA of 1.12. Scoff Garrelts came in to pitch the 9th inning and gave up 1 hit, 1 strikeout, 1 walk and 0 Earned Runs.
Mike Aldrete was 2 for 4 with two singles while driving in 3 runs. Kevin Mitchell hit a single and a double driving in 2 runs.
Robby Thompson committed an error for the Giants.

Ron Darling (7-7) evens out his record with a win today. Darling lasted 8 innings giving up 4 hits, 4 strikeouts, 0 walks and 0 Earned Runs. Randy Meyers pitched the 9th inning and earned a save while giving up 1 hit, 1 strikeout, 1 walk and 0 Earned Runs.
Kevin McReynolds went 2 for 4 while driving in 1 RBI. Mookie Wilson was 0 for 3 with an RBI. Greg Jefferies was 2 for 4 with a single and double. Lenny Dykstra was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and he stole 2 bases.

Sid Fernandez (17-7) earned the Mets the loss today after pitching 7 1/3 innings while giving up 5 hits, 4 strikeouts, 5 walks and 1 Earned Run for an ERA of 1.23. Roger McDowell came in and finished the game going 1 2/3 innings and giving up only 1 hit, 1 strikeout and 0 Earned Runs.
Sid Fernandez was 2 for 3 in today's game. Wally Backman was 1 for 3 with an RBI. Kevin McReynolds was 1 for 4 today with an RBI.
Keith Hernandez committed an error at first.
Rick Reuschel pitched for the Giants today and went 7 innings for a no decision while giving up 8 hits, 2 strikeouts and 2 Earned Runs for an ERA of 2.57. Scott Garrelts came in and pitched 2 innings and earned the win while allowing no hits, walks or Earned Runs while striking one batter out.
