Injustice: Gods Among Us is a fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in April 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii. This game is based on the DC comic book universe and pits the good guys against the bad guys like all comic books do.
Injustice is a 2.5D fighting game similar to Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. In the campaign, you pick from a number of good guys to fight the bad guys with the final battle being against a parallel world evil Superman.
The controls are set up like the previously mentioned games where you have basic one-button commands to kick, punch, etc. When you pair up the attacks to perform combos you strike your foe with a more powerful attack. The backgrounds can also be interacted with which can be a lot of fun depending on the location. You'll fight in many different places including Superman's Fortress Of Solitude, the Batcave, Metropolis next to the Daily Planet, and lots more based on what characters are fighting.
Including the campaign mode, you can also pick a character to battle a list of 10 characters, you can also go online to play against real players. There is also a mode that has you battle every character in the game with a twist, your health doesn't change between enemies which can be a pretty tough challenge.
I like the different characters that you can play as. My only gripe is that you can unlock different skins for the characters but there aren't any classic costumes like Superman's classic costume. Instead, most of the costumes look to be how they are portrayed in the current comic book line.
I'm not a huge fan of these kinds of fighting games as I'm pretty bad at them so I don't know if it's because it's based upon the DC comic book universe but I had lots of fun with this game. The gameplay, the graphics, and the controls all come together for a fun and exciting fighting game.
If you're a fan of fighting games or the DC comic universe I would recommend you try this game out. I give Injustice: Gods Among Us a 7 out of 10.
