SUMMARY:

This game was the longest Strat game I've played to this point and was one of the most exciting as well. In the real 2012 World Series the San Francisco Giants won the series in four games. In my Strat replay after four game the series is tied at two each. Like I said previously this isn't so much as I'm trying to duplicate what happened in real life as that would be boring and pointless. As always the main point is to play games and have fun. I also wanted to see if I'd be able to play World Series and to try to have it play out like it did (with the Giants wining) and then to compare reality from the game.

Strat-O-Matic is able to allow you to play what if games with a fair chance of accuracy. The more games you play the closer the stats line up to what the players did in the real world. The people who make Strat make the player cards as close to accurate as they can allowing you to play games with a reasonable amount of accuracy. But because the game relies on dice throws and chance it allows a one off game to become a blow out for one team. When multiple games are played the games will average out to be close to reality but as you can see with this series the players are playing close to reality but we have the series tied instead of a win for the Giants.

Because in this game the players almost played 50% more innings then they did in the real game I'm not going to compare stats as they'd be too far off. Click here for Game 5 of my 2012 World Series Strat-O-Matic replay!
