Spawn Villagers In Minecraft Without Eggs Tutorial

As I mentioned in Episode 1 of my Minecraft Let's Play my world was started before villagers were introduced and I didn't want to switch to creative and use spawn eggs so I had to come up with a better solution. Not only will this method get you villagers without any cheats it will also get you an achievement called Zombie Doctor which is for curing a zombie villager.

Step 1 is to find a place where you can do some hunting at night. I picked right in front of my building where it is pretty open so nothing can sneak up on my to easily.

Step 2 is to build a fenced in area with a door. You'll want to make sure it's not too far from the area you are going to hunt from. Make sure the door is open before you begin.

Step 3 You'll need to make a Golden Apple (golden bars, apple) and a Potion Of Weakness (Vial of water, fermented spider eye, Redstone dust, gunpowder).

Step 4 Now you're all set to hunt for a zombie villager. Once it becomes dark, go out and hunt for zombies. I usually can find a zombie villager within 2 nights of hunting.

Step 5 Once you've found a zombie villager lead him toward your fenced in area. Kill anything before it gets too close to the zombie villager so you don't accidental kill him instead.

Step 6 Get into the fenced in area and make your way around the zombie villager and close the door on your way out trapping the zombie villager.

Step 7 Throw the Potion Of Weakness on the zombie villager, once it's taken effect hit him with the golden apple. If you've done everything right red squiggles should appear around him. It takes a few minutes for everything to work. When it's done you have yourself a villager ready to move into whatever village you want him to live in. At this point, you'll get the Zombie Doctor achievement if you don't already have it.

These are the squiggles you're looking for.

If you don't have villagers in your world or if you're looking for the Zombie Doctor achievement I hope this little guide helps you.
