My wife came home one day after a day of shopping and hands me this Beast Man. I ask her, "Where did you get this?" She answers with the store. I ask her, "Did you take the Delorean there because this guy is a few years old at this point?" She laughs, I laugh... she walks away leaving me with a new Masters Of The Universe toy so I'm happy to leave it at that.
Anyway, today we have Beast Man (FND74) from Mattel's Masters Of The Universe (MOTU) line of toys. This figure is one of two MOTU figures released from the second series of the Mega Construx Heroes line of toys, the other being Teela. Series two also has Kirk and Spock from Star Trek (they are equipped with their weapons from the classic episode Amok Time from the second series of the original show) as well as Fry and Bender from Futurama. At some point, I'd like to get the rest of these guys.
Beast Man, who is Skeletor's Right Hand Man-Beast, comes with a stand with his name on it and his iconic whip. I thought Man-At-Arms was the best looking MOTU figure in this line so far but I also like how Beast Man looks, he has enough detail and paint applications to accurately represent Beast Man at this size.
My only issue with this Beast Man is that his whip isn't a hard plastic but it's hard enough to just about break at the base and I just took him out of the packaging and was careful. At first, I was happy with the whip because it wasn't made in the hard plastic the rest of the figure is but then it nearly snapped off at the base so at this point I would have been happier with a whip made with hard plastic to eliminate the chance of breaking.
Even with the whip nearly breaking I'm happy with this purchase and I'm looking forward to continuing with this set of toys. I give Beast Man from Series 2 of Mega Construx Heroes a 7 out of 10.
