Hello and welcome to Game 96 of my 2012 Strat-O-Matic New York Yankees season replay. Today the Yankees are in California to play the Oakland A's in a four-game series. As of today's game, the Yankees record is (50-45) which is good for 2nd place only 1/2 a game back from the Tampa Bay Rays. The Athletics record is (55-36) which has them on the top of the AL West.

In 19 starts this season Hughes has pitched 122 innings while giving up 131 hits, walking 26, striking out 82 for an ERA of 4.35. The A's have Tommy Milone (11-5) starting today who has started 22 games this season and pitched 119 innings while giving up 110 hits, 20 walks, 82 strikeouts for an ERA of 2.65. It looks like the Yankees are going to have a tough fight this series.
