Feeding Frenzy Review
Feeding Frenzy is an arcade-style game by Sprout Games and published by PopCap Games. It was originally released in 2004 for Windows computers and was later released on Xbox Live on March 15, 2006. Feeding Frenzy was made backward compatible with the Xbox One and is one of the games available to play on EA Access.
Feeding Frenzy is a simple game where you control a fish and try to keep him from being eaten by the bigger fish while at the same time trying to eat smaller fish. If you eat enough fish you will grow into the next bigger fish allowing you to eat the bigger fish and so on.
There are three-point levels you need to reach represented by a bar, called growth, on the top left with two arrows. You gain points as you eat fish which will make the bar grow and when you hit the first arrow you will grow to the next bigger fish allowing you to eat new fish. The second arrow is the same as you growing to your final size for the level. When you earn enough points to reach the end of the bar you complete the level and move on to the next one.
To complete each level you need points and there are a few ways to earn them. Besides eating fish you can also keep eating to keep your frenzy score up. You only have a second or two before your frenzy score goes down so keep eating. There are also clams on the bottom that once and a while have pearls that earn you some extra points. You can even find mermaids that get you extra points.
The game has a total of 40 levels for you to play which will take a couple of hours to beat. After beating all 40 levels Time Attack! is unlocked. Time Attack! has you play all 40 levels again with unlimited lives and a set time to beat on a harder difficulty than the regular game. That's it and that's all for gameplay.
I enjoyed playing Feeding Frenzy but it's not going to provide too much challenge or time to complete. As long as you know that going in you'll be ok. I give Feeding Frenzy! a 6 out of 10.
