Let's Play 1988 World Series With Strat-O-Matic Game 4
Welcome to Game 4 of my Replay of the 1988 World Series with Strat-O-Matic. Today's game is in Oakland with the Athletics hoping to win after losing two of the last 3 games. The Athletics' starter will be Dave Stewart and for the Dodgers Tim Belcher will be on the mound.
If you've missed the other Games you can click here for Game1, Game 2 and Game 3.
In Game 4 the lineups will be the same as in real life with the exception of Dave Anderson playing for the injured Alfredo Griffin and Stan Javier playing for an injured Jose Canseco. SUMMARY:
In the real Game 4 the Dodgers beat the Athletics 4-3 giving the Dodgers a 3-1 lead in the Series. In my replay of Game 4 the Dodgers offense never materialized like it did in real life. Also the Athletics bats were a little better then they were in real life. With today's win the World Series is tied at 2 each, at this point either team has a chance to win it all.
The player of the Game is the Oakland Athletics Walt Weiss who was 2 for 4 with a double and 3 runs batted in.
Come back next week for Game 5 in Oakland to see if the Athletics can defeat the Dodgers to win the 1988 World Series!
