Hello and welcome to Game 71 of my 2012 Strat-O-Matic New York Yankees season replay. Today the Yankees are heading home for a three-game series against the Atlanta Braves of the National League Eastern Division. The Braves are currently in 1st place in their division with a record of (41-26) and are 5.5 games ahead of second place.
If you missed the Yankees previous game you can click here for Game 70. Today the Yankees have their ace Hiroki Kuroda (7-4) on the mound. In 12 starts this season Kuroda has allowed 98 hits, 24 walks, 67 strikeouts in 100 innings for an ERA of 3.42. The Braves have Mike Minor (7-5) starting today. Minor has started 14 games this season and in 82 innings he's allowed 78 hits, 16 walks, 82 strikeouts for an ERA of 3.18. It looks like these two pitchers seem to be pretty evenly matched.
