Hello and welcome to Game 103 of my 2012 Strat-O-Matic New York Yankees season replay. Today the Yankees are heading back to Yankee Stadium to start a new series against their bitter rivals the Boston Redsox. The Yankees find themselves currently in 1st place with a record of (54-48) and are ahead of Tampa Bay by 2 games. The Red Sox record is currently (47-52) which puts them in 4th place 5.5 games out of first.

If you missed the Yankees previous game you can click here for Game 102. Today the Yankees have their ace Hiroki Kuroda (12-6) who has started in 19 games this season and has thrown 115 innings while allowing 142 hits, 36 walks, 113 strikeouts for an ERA of 3.59. The Red Sox will have Clay Buchholz (8-7) starting today. In 20 starts this season Buchholz has thrown 120 innings while giving up 119 hits, 44 walks, 96 strikeouts for an ERA of 4.19.

Today was a good win for the Yankees but it came at a cost. Clay Buchholz (8-8) had a bad game with walking five Yankees including hitting three of them. Curtis Granderson will miss the next three games while Mark Teixeira will miss the next eight games.

Hiroki Kuroda (13-6) threw a complete game while allowing only one run, a solo home run to Cody Ross. In nine innings Kuroda gave up 7 hits, walked 3, struck out 5 to bring his ERA to 3.45.

Scheduled to pitch for the Yankees in their next game is C.C. Sabathia (6-8) and for the Red Sox is Jon Lester (9-12). Come back next time to see how the Yankees do!
