Strat-O-Matic 1988 Replay Mets Games 122-123


The Mets travel to San Diego to face the Padres for two games.

GAME 122 : New York Mets @ San Diego Padres

The Mets take game one from the Padres with a score of 5 to 1.

Bobby Ojeda (21-2) wins yet another game for the Mets. Ojeda pitched a complete game giving up 9 hits, striking out 10 and walking 2 while giving up 1 Earned Run for an ERA of 1.00.

Mookie Wilson was 3 for 4 today with a double and a home run driving in 2 RBIs. Kevin McReynolds was 1 for 3 with a solo home run.

Erik Show earned the loss for the Padres today. Show pitched 7 innings giving up 7 hits, 6 strikeouts, 2 walks and allowing 3 Earned Runs for an ERA of 3.86. Dave Leiper came in to pitch the last 2 innings for the Padres giving up 1 hit and 3 strikeouts while allowing 2 Earned Runs for an ERA of 9.00.

Robbie Alomar drove in the only run for the Padres with a double.

GAME 123 : New York Mets @ San Diego Padres

The Mets take game 2 and the series with a score of 5 to 4.

Ron Darling (6-7) gets the win today going 7 innings and allowing 6 hits, 5 strikeouts, 2 walks and 2 Earned Runs for an ERA of 2.57. Randy Meyers earned a save while pitched 2 innings giving up 3 hits, 2 strikeouts and 1 Earned Run for an ERA of 4.50.

Mooke Wilson was 1 for 5 with a solo home run. Tim Teufel was 2 for 4 with an RBI double. Keith Hernandez was 2 for 5 with a triple.

Dennis Rasmussen started the game for the Padres and earned the loss in 7 innings giving up 7 hits, 5 strikeouts, 2 walks and 4 Earned Runs for an ERA of 5.14. Lance McCullers pitched 1 inning giving up 1 hit, 2 walks and 1 Earned Run for an ERA of 9.00. Make Davis pitched the 9th and gave up 2 hits, 2 strikeouts and 0 Earned Runs.

John Kruk went 2 for 3 with a double and a solo home run. Benito Santiago was also 2 for 3 with a solo home run.

After two games the Mets increase their record to (86-37) while the Padres record sinks to (2-7).
