Game Of Thrones Season 1 Episode 2 By Telltale Games Review

Game Of Thrones Season 1 Episode 2 by Telltale Games was released on February 3, 2015 for many different consoles and mobile devices. If you haven't watched passed the end of Season 3 of the HBO series I would recommend not playing until you are caught up because the game does contain spoilers of the show. I played this episode on my Xbox 360.

The story of Episode 2 continues where Episode 1 left off putting you in the shoes of newly created characters from the House Forrester. Rodrick, son of Lord Forrester, survives the Red Wedding and attempts to put his House back together.  Gared, who was the squire to Lord Forrester, arrives at the Wall and starts his training to become a Brother of the Night's Watch. Mira, daughter to Lord Forrester, continues as a lady-in-waiting to Margaery Tyrell, and does her best to get help for her family from Margaery in whatever way she can.

You are also in control of a new character in Episode 2, Asher of the House Forrester, who is in Yunkai and is asked by his family to return to help them.

I enjoyed this episode and think it was a good continuation from Episode 1. There were a few quick time combats that will come up that help give you a little break from the story. They are not hard but may take you a try or two to complete them. If you mess up and die the game reloads right back where you died and you try again.

I also like the look of the game, it remind me a bit of a painting. Not completely realistic but still having a lot of detail. The game also takes place in different parts of the HBO show that haven't been shown yet like new sections of King's Landing and the Wall.

Like I've said in just about every Telltale Game I've played I ran into glitches in this Episode. The biggest being that mouths and words do not like up at all, similar to watching a dubbed movie. It's not game breaking but you would think they'd have gotten it fixed by now. The worst part was the beginning recap, not only was the voices not lining up but the graphics themselves would freeze while the characters were talking and then after a pause would continue on where it would have been if it didn't freeze which made me miss parts of it.

Overall I think Episode 2 had a great story that draws you into the Game Of Thrones world. The story takes place through the eyes of the House of Forrester which you begin to empathize with quickly but with the Forrester characters interacting with people from the HBO show. From beginning to end this Episode took me 1 hour and 50 minutes to complete. I would rate the game higher but all the graphical and audio issues are keeping it down for me. I rate Game Of Thrones Season One Episode 2 a 7 out of 10.

  1. Martin fashions a story in the fantasy genre that is all encompassing and not lacking in imagination with "Game of Thrones." King Robert Baratheon needs a new "Hand" after the death of Jon Arryn and so seeks out Eddard Stark of Winterfell, but many secrets threaten Westros and the Seven Kingdoms. game of thrones season 4 online
