Hello and welcome to Game 85 of my 2012 Strat-O-Matic New York Yankees season replay. Today the Yankees are in Florida to play game two of a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays.
If you missed the Yankees previous game you can click here for Game 84. Today the Yankees have their ace Hiroki Kuroda (10-4) pitching for them. In 15 starts this season Kuroda has pitched 126 innings while giving up 117 hits, 27 walks, 87 strikeouts for an ERA of 3.37. For the Rays today they will have James Shields (6-8) pitching. Shields has started 19 games this season and has pitched 111 innings while giving up 114 hits, 24, walks, 108 with an ERA of 3.56. These two pitchers seem pretty evenly matched which should make today's game a good one.
