Let's Play 2012 World Series with Strat-O-Matic Game 1
In our next series, I will be playing the 2012 World Series between the San Francisco Giants versus the Detroit Tigers in Strat-O-Matic. Last time I played out the 1927 World Series, you can click here for game 1. For this series, I will be using the advanced rules.
I will be keeping the same lineups in my Strat games as were played in real life except for the additional players, I don't have that card pack for 2012. The biggest change will be the starting right fielder for the Tigers, in real life Avisail Garcia played but I will be using Brennan Boesch who played right for the Tigers for most of the season.

SUMMARY:
In my last series, we compared the pitcher's stats to compare how the teams did in Strat. In the real game, the Giants won 8-3 so in the Strat game, the Giants won as well with the same amount of runs, the Tigers hit a few more in my game.
The Tiger pitchers in the real game gave up 11 hits, 1 walks, 8 strikes outs with an ERA of 9.00. In my Strat game, the Tiger pitchers gave up 10 hits, 3 walks, 10 strikeouts with an ERA of 7.00. As you can see the starts are pretty close with the hits off by only 1, walks by 2, strikeouts by 2 and the ERA off by 2.00.
The Giants pitchers gave up in the real game 8 hits, 2 walks, 8 strikeouts with an ERA of 3.00. In my game, the Giants pitchers gave up 8 hits, 5 walks, 8 strikeouts with an ERA of 6.33. Hits and strikeouts were identical and in Strat, they gave up 3 more walks and the ERA was 3.33 more but overall pretty close and the Giants won in both games.
Game one was a lot of fun and next week game 2 will be up for enjoyment. See you then!
