Hello and welcome to Game 106 of my 2012 Strat-O-Matic New York Yankees season replay. Today the Yankees are at Yankee Stadium for a new series against their division rivals the Baltimore Orioles.
If you missed the Yankees previous game you can click here for Game 105. On the hill today for the Yankees is veteran Andy Pettitte (3-3). Pettitte has started in 7 games this season and has thrown 67 innings while allowing 47 hits, 21 walks, 65 strikeouts for an ERA of 2.16. The Orioles give the ball to Randy Wolf (7-9) who has started 11 games this season and pitched in 122 innings while sacrificing 135 hits, 48 walks, 82 strikeouts with an ERA of 5.39. It definitely looks like the Yankees are the favorites for today's game but the Yankees are still missing two key players in Mark Teixeira and Curtis Granderson. Let's play some baseball!
Today for the Yankees is started Phil Hughes (9-6). In 21 starts this season Hughes has thrown 139 innings while surrendering 141 hits, 35 walks, 91 strikeouts, and an ERA of 4.01. On the mound for the Red Sox, today is Frank Doubront who has thrown 121 innings in 21 starts and has given up 110 hits, 52 walks, 118 strikeouts, and an ERA of 4.15. Both pitchers are evenly matched so it's anybody's game.
