Greg Jefferies went 3 for 5 hitting a single, double, and a home run driving in 2 runs. Darryl Strawberry was 4 for 4 hitting 3 doubles and 1 home run bringing in 2 RBIs. Sid Fernandez was 3 for 3 with 3 doubles and bringing in 2 RBIs.
Pete Smith earned a loss for the Braves while pitching 6 innings and giving up 8 hits, 2 Ks, 2 BBs and 4 Earned Runs for an ERA 6.00. Paul Assemacher pitched 2 innings of relief allowing 3 hits, 0 Ks, 1 BBs and 1 Earned Run for an ERA of 4.50.
